Hello there, I'm Mrs. McClellan! I’m excited to be starting my 11th year at Richview! I began my career as a special education assistant, working with students in all grades and subject areas for five years before stepping into my own classroom. This is now my sixth year teaching, and I love helping students grow as readers and writers. I hold a master’s degree in English and another in Instructional Technology, and I enjoy finding ways to use technology to make learning engaging and meaningful. I am currently working on my Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree. Outside of school, I love reading, traveling, and testing my knowledge with trivia. I’m looking forward to a fantastic year filled with growth, learning, and celebrating student success!

In our ELA class, we will read a variety of engaging fiction and nonfiction texts selected from the StudySync curriculum. While we will use some of the texts, students will not use the StudySync online platform, digital activities, or assignments. All reading materials, questions, writing assignments, and skill practice will be provided directly in class or through Google Classroom. Students will use these texts to strengthen their reading, writing, critical-thinking, and collaboration skills.

Grades for all assignments can be viewed on PowerSchool, while assignment listings and class materials are posted in Google Classroom. Both platforms can be accessed from a home laptop, cell phone, or other mobile device. Students can log in to these resources through ClassLink by visiting https://launchpad.classlink.com/cmcsd.

Be Respectful – Treat yourself, others, and our classroom with kindness. Listen when others are speaking.

Stay On Task – Use class time wisely to complete work and avoid distractions.

Follow Directions – Listen carefully and follow instructions the first time they are given.

Take Responsibility – Own your actions, meet deadlines, and ask for help when you need it.

Use Technology Appropriately – Laptops and devices should be used for learning only—no games, unrelated videos, or messaging.

Keep a Positive Attitude – Be willing to try, make mistakes, and learn from them.
