My name is Mrs. Martineau, and I teach 8th grade ELA. I am originally a New York mountain girl, having grown up in the Catskill Mountains. As a military spouse, I have had the opportunity to teach in several places before my family and I made Clarksville our home.
I earned my BA in English Literature and Writing and my MS in Curriculum and Instruction from the State University of New York at Potsdam. During my time preparing to become a teacher, I fell in love with teaching middle school--it is such an exciting time of growth. Students are beginning to think more critically, make deeper connections, and see the world from new perspectives. It's a privilege to help them discover their voices and develop the confidence to express their ideas.
When I'm not at school, I enjoy reading, gardening, traveling, and spending time with my husband, our three children, and our dogs. I look forward to partnering with students and families to make this a successful and memorable school year!
